Let's re-cap everything we've learned up to this point. By now you should know how to:
  • Select your vertical market category
  • Establish a main keyword phrase
  • Discover a list of alternative keyword phrases (from Wordtracker)
  • Write webpage’s content for the keyword phrase with the highest traffic potential
  • Increase keyword density within content
  • Adjust content by adding keyword targeted headers using [ H1 ] tags
  • Adjust content by adding emphasis to targeted keywords using [ strong / b ] tags
  • Write page titles that are precise and keyword targeted and place them in the [ TITLE ] tag
  • Implement META keywords and META descriptions that target your keywords
If you follow the steps above in the order listed, you're in very good shape for everything that is to follow. In the next part to this series, we'll discuss other very important on-page optimizations that will include: internal linking, anchor text, alt tags, external linking, PageRank, and more.
