If your website contains less than 25 pages of high quality content consisting of 500 words or more, then STOP READING THIS! You need to go back and add more content to your website! If you haven't spent the effort and time on developing content for your visitors, then how can you expect them to keep coming back? True this doesn't apply to all websites. For example, a website that sells a unique service can very well get away with not having much content. People are visiting for the use of the service. Reality is that few webmasters can offer a unique service that will generate traffic by word of mouth. Most sites are "me-too" websites that sell products, boast online and home business opportunities, or are cookie-cutter websites. For any given new website a webmaster publishes, there are thousands, if not millions, that exist before it. If you're serious about competing with them and moving your way to the top, you're going to need to give your visitors reason to choose you over them. It starts with content, which is your most important tool in website traffic generation.

For each unique page of content you create, you've just created another point of entry for a user to find your website. Think about that for a moment. For EACH unique page you gain ONE MORE point of entry for a user to FIND your website. Imagine website A with 1000 pages of quality content that have been indexed by Google. Now imagine website B with 10 pages of quality content that have been indexed by Google. Both offer the same services and very similar content. Both were launched on the same day. Both use the same SEO techniques. Which do you think will get more traffic? The answer is obvious. Website A has potentially 1000 points of entry where-as website B only has 10. By focusing on content, you're already on your way to a potentially successful website! Uh oh... I said "potentially", didn't I? Truth is, even a website with 1000 pages needs to do a LOT more to gain any attention.
