A quick and easy way to spread the word about your website is to write about it. Online articles are similar to articles that you may find in a magazine that you subscribe to. The big difference is that online articles can be syndicated to a larger audience than print magazines and you can submit your article for FREE! Millions of people flock to the internet on a daily basis to read articles in a category that they subscribe to. If you have a website that is all about dog food, your article will reach readers that are specifically interested in pet care, pet information, and pet products.
You can take a couple approaches to article generation. The first is to write them yourself. Articles should be written with attention to detail, clear and concise purpose, and be SEO optimized. If you're not familiar with SEO, you need to get familiar before writing an article. Articles should NOT be a sales promotion, nor should they be stuffed with meaningless chatter. Each article represents your website. A poorly written or confusing article is a reflection on your website and will cause your site to loose credibility as a legitimate business. If you don't feel you can commit the time to writing quality articles, then a second option is to pay someone to do them for you. You can find plenty of freelance writers who are ready and willing to supply you with articles that revolve around the keywords and subject matter. One thing to keep in mind when hiring a freelancer... you get what you pay for. If you're willing to pay a higher wage, you can find freelancers that are well versed in English and apply the rules of grammar correctly. They can provide optimized articles that are keyword rich and of very high quality. Now, if you decide to be a bottom feeder and are only willing to pay the bare-minimum for articles... expect the quality to match. In other words, if you can't invest the time into writing quality articles at least invest the money into having others write them for you. The anatomy of the article should always contain a long title, short title, article summary, article body (the article), and article bio and/or resource section.
No matter which option you choose, it's recommended to create and submit at least one new article every week. Obviously the optimal number of articles would be one every day, but that can be a bit overwhelming for some or completely blow their budget.
Now that we've discussed the importance of writing articles, let's actually take a look at what we can do with them. We're not going to cover anything in-depth, but we'll give you the basics to get you started on article publishing. Oh, and one important note that needs to be mentioned. Make sure you host your article on your own website and wait for it to get indexed by Google before submitting to any article directory. You want to ensure you get credit as the original source of the article.
Submitting Articles
Once you have one or more articles written, you're ready to syndicate them! You can syndicate through several methods and channels. Although we won't cover all of them here (like syndicating through your own RSS feed on your website), we'll cover a couple of easy methods. The first is to manually submit your articles to individual article directories. This option can be time consuming, but is recommended for some of the larger directories on the web as you’ll have a higher level of quality control. It's recommended to start an account with
Ezine Article and start there. They have an easy to follow interface and have high levels of traffic.
The second option is to blast your article to multiple article directories at one time. You can do this easily, and for free, by using
Article Sender. Article sender basically takes your articles and attempts to auto-submit them to dozens of article directories and channels around the web. It's an easy and fast option for those who don't have time (or patience) to manually submit each article to every online article directory.
