Pay Per Click
Uh oh... the dreaded word "Pay" is in the title, isn't it? Yeah, it is. Sometimes you need to give your website a proverbial "shot in the arm" to get some traffic going. Pay Per Click campaigns allows you to generate traffic to your website right NOW! The caveat to this instant traffic is, obviously, you need to pay for every click a user makes that brings them to your site. Here's the very brief explanation of Pay Per Click (PPC), specifically Google AdWords.
When you conduct a search in Google, the first thing you're likely to see at the top of the search results is a shaded box with "sponsored link" in the top-right corner. Along the right column of the search results you'll see additional "sponsored link" listings. All of those listings are Google AdWords PPC listings. Whenever a user clicks on one of those "ads", Google collects a fee for the click, a PPC. PPC campaigns allow websites that wouldn't even place in the top 1000 of the search results to place on the first page for competitive keywords. The positioning of the ads is based on the amount of money the advertiser is willing to pay for each click. For highly competitive keywords (such as in the mortgage industry) the top three spots can go as high as $20 or more per click. As you could imagine with competitive markets, a PPC campaign can get very expensive. Still, it's an excellent way to help generate traffic to a website that is relatively unknown. Having used an aggressive PPC campaign in our early stages, Free Links Direct believes in PPC as a viable source of traffic. Once the word spreads that you offer outstanding content or services and once your other traffic generation schemes start to kick-in, you can reduce or even cut your PPC campaigns.
to get started with your PPC now! AdWords is just one of several PPC options available, but it's the best one to start with since Google still has the largest market share for search engine queries. AdWords is a very deep topic and we could literally cover about 25 pages of details on how to implement an effective campaign. Like all of the methods described in this guide, do your research before jumping the gun! You'll save yourself a lot of time, money, and frustration.
